Boosting is any method used to gain an unfair advantage with external resources or accounts. It is typically categorized as Stat Boosting, Leaderboard Boosting, or Alt Abuse. Boosting infractions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
While transferring teams is allowed, there are restrictions on what players may take with them. Before switching teams, players must inform staff to ensure boosting rules are not violated. Staff must document the items and value transferred to the new team and ask the team leader if they want to compete for leaderboards. Staff will pass this information on to the admins.
Players generally may take any items physically associated with their account. For example, chunk-hoppers, sell-chests, souls, mana, and SVAs generally may be taken when switching teams. Admins may reset minion progress to base level on a case-by-case basis.
If a player transfers to a team competing for leaderboards, staff will likely wipe the player's money. Admins will decide on a case-by-case basis.
Transferring currencies may be allowed if the player transfers to a team with no plans to compete for leaderboards. However, the new team will likely be banned from the leaderboard for at least three months and up to the remainder of the season.
Because they provide an almost instant advantage, players may not take spawners to a new team. It does not matter who paid for the spawners or who placed them.
Manual farms may be shared within a nation. This does not extend to allied nations.
Autofarms and automated spawner systems that belong to other towns are considered outside resources. Using the automated systems of other towns would result in a boosting punishment. The exception would be "public farms" accessible to all players.
Stats Boosting is when a player unfairly boosts their stats. This includes repeatedly killing alts or other players to boost kills, creating alt plots/islands/teams for bonuses, sharing accounts to boost stats for leaderboards, etc.
Leaderboard Boosting occurs when a player or team achieves a spot on the leaderboard or server awarded prizes with “outside” help. Examples of outside help include using builds, islands, and resources other than their own to gain a prize or unfair advantage. Boosting may be done by alts, inactive accounts, or active players. Server-awarded prizes include but are not limited to begin/end-of-season rewards, SVAs, and cubits.
Rulings on severity are made on a case-by-case basis. In severe cases, the player(s) may be banned from leaderboards for one to two months, up to the remainder of the season.
Public farms or grinders are not considered "outside resources." Public areas must be fully accessible to all players via a public warp. It is not public if special permissions, teleportation, invitation, or any other special means are required to use the resources. Players must not need to be co-oped or otherwise given special permission, teleportation, or invitation to utilize the "public" area.
Weapons and tools are not considered outside resources.
Any player who achieves a spot on the leaderboard or any server awarded prizes (such as begin/end of season rewards, prestige, SVAs, cubits) using builds, islands, etc. other than their own shall have their situation evaluated to determine prize eligibility. Prizes are awarded at the owner’s discretion, and decisions will be made at the end of any contests.
Situations that are not generally considered boosting are:
Any deals that unfairly give an advantage to one player will be susceptible to at least a leaderboard ban.
Using the property of inactive players for leaderboard positions, rewards, or payouts is Boosting and is bannable.
While alts may be used on your own claims they may not be used to secure a secondary leaderboard position. Players are only allowed to have one account gain progression at a time. Other accounts may only act as chunk loaders for farms and may not gain in any way (this includes but is not limited to gaining XP and MCMMO).
Examples of gaining progressions by using alts include:
